We spent four days at Moosehead Lake, in northern Maine visiting with my mother and stepfather. David and his buddy, Pete, had a grand time bird hunting. They did get a couple of birds but I think they mostly enjoyed their time in the Maine woods.
My brother, Mike and family, were at their family camp about 10 miles from us. We had fun visiting with them, their friends and the dogs. David and our nephew, Dylan, spent an afternoon hunting together.
It has just been so wonderful being able to spend quality, relaxing time with our family and friends this trip. Plus, the weather has been amazing. It is difficult to believe that this is October, the days have been so warm and sunny.
On Saturday, mom, Paul and I traveled to Newport, ME to attend the funeral of my great-aunt Helen. She was an amazing lady who lived to be 95 years young. It is sad that she is no longer with us, but how joyous that she is now in heaven. She loved to fish so we all believe that she is fishing on a pond that produces the most amazing catches!! It was a beautiful day and many of our family members were there, so it was nice to see everyone.
We spied this beautiful tree in Augusta, ME on our way to visit with my dad and stepmother. I don’t remember ever seeing a tree with such gorgeous color. How fortunate we were to be able to enjoy this beautiful site.
So, today is Monday. We are back in our home in Cape Elizabeth. The car is unpacked, the laundry is done from this trip. Tomorrow is a day of packing and organizing for our Georgia trip. We will leave on Wednesday morning to drive down. Our goal is to be in Georgia on Friday afternoon/evening.
Hope you are enjoying these autumn months as much as we are!
