Outlook, Saskatchewan – Day Trip

This was a day trip to Outlook, SK which is about 1 1/2 hours south of Saskatoon. It is known for having Canada’s longest pedestrian bridge. The bridge is part of the Trans-Canada Trail. Originally, it was a railroad bridge that was converted in 2003. It is 159 ft over the South Saskatchewan River and the bridge is 3000 ft long.

We saw many migrating birds on the riverbank below. There were Sandhill Cranes which we were introduced to when we lived in Nebraska in 2005. We took a trip to the Platte River to see the amazing sight of all the cranes stopping on their migration back to Canada. Along with the cranes, there were many Canadian Wild Geese and 2 deer.
