Today we left our room where we were staying in Bayswater area and moved to Chelsea area. We have a real cute, cute one bedroom apartment on Embankment Gardens right off from Chelsea Embankment road which follows along the Thames River. We have a view of the Thames from our condo.
After checking in with the landlord, paying for the apartment and getting the key, we headed towards the nearby grocery store to buy groceries. The nearby shopping street is off of Sloane Square, Kings Road, which is a popular shopping street in London. We had a coffee at a local coffee shop, Nero’s and then walked along Kings Road to see what shops were near our apartment.
We stopped in the bookstore and I read the book Paddington Bear. I had heard of Paddington Bear forever and even have a Paddington bear but never really knew the story. It is a cute children’s book and who knew that Paddington was originally from “dark Peru”??? While at the bookstore, I met Stephanie, who is originally from Kentucky. She worked for 2 years in Hong Kong for the State Department, met her British husband over there, moved to London and now is the proud momma of Eva. There is a possibility that we might rent this cute apartment when we return to live in London. Possibly Stephanie and I will connect in November!
The grocery store is great. They carry the Greek yogurt I like and we bought pasta, eggs, wine and apples. We walked back to the apartment and David took a nap while I did laundry. It is just like life in the states, no?
Dinner was pasta and wine followed by a walk along the Thames.
