Life has been busy lately. Thanks to your donations, we were able to buy a house for Edith’s (our cleaning lady) parents, clothes for the children in the mountains that we just hiked and a donation to the Lima orphanage. David had a minor operation (more on this in the next post) and we were recently told that we were being transferred….very unexpected!!!
David’s company was asked to leave this Lima project – a first for us in the 20 years that we have been doing this. That was two weeks ago. So, as I write this, we are all packed, flying to Maine on Thursday night for a little R & R.
David’s new project will be a copper mine in La Serena, Chile. He will spend 2 months in the Santiago office and then we will move to La Serena for 9 months. We have heard nothing but great things about La Serena. It is 6 hours north of Santiago on the coast and has 5 miles of beaches. We are both looking forward to it.
We don’t have exact dates that we will return to Chile. Possibly, David will be home until the 16th or 17th. I plan to stay a week longer.
The past week I have been in major “Don’t Panic, Adjust” mode….the worse is behind us and the last few days we have been able to relax a little while finishing up odds and ends.
I will continue to keep you posted on next adventure!!!
