Our New Condo

Merry Christmas to all. I hope that your holiday was as special as David’s and mine was. We had a very quiet day, but it was a lovely day. We enjoyed a couple of movies, I cooked a
turkey (!!) dinner and we exchanged cards.

We have been in our new condo for a week now and we are thoroughly enjoying it. It is close to downtown so we can walk to the cinema, mall and civic center.

As you can see, we have a lovely view of the park and Saskatchewan River. In the picture, the vapor in the left side of the picture is the river! I believe I took this picture when it was 40 below…so, this is what it looks like at 40 below. We had a real cold snap come through last week.

Fortunately, one of the perks of our condo is the underground parking. We so appreciate not having to go outside in the cold to unplug the car, clean it off and then, warm it up before we can take off.

Today, it is 19 degrees out…a real heat wave. We had snow tires put on the car last week. I just feel more confident with the snow tires. The all weather tires don’t seem to grip as well when it was so cold out. Plus, here in Saskatoon, they don’t tend to clean the street the way we are used to in Maine.

David’s office is about a 15 minute ride from where we are living. There are a couple of other co-workers who live nearby. After the holidays, David will car pool with them.

We took in a couple of holiday movies….Four Christmases, very cute and Tom Cruise’s Valkyrie. It was a good movie especially since it was based on a true story. However, the ending is sad. I am hoping to see Marley and Me over New Years.

We are also getting back into the work-out routine. The YWCA is right around the corner from us and we walk over after David gets home from work. It has been forever since we have been able to workout, so getting back into the routine is taking awhile, but what little we have done, we feel so much better.

Life is good and each day, we thank God for everything. We hope that 2009 will bring wonderful blessings to you.
